Context
An international beverage corporation needed an immersive, interactive trade show activation to transport visitors from the exhibition floor straight to their primary overseas production facility. The virtual tour, narrated by their facility expert, featured the complete production pipeline: from ingredient processing to packaging and distribution. The beverage corporation turned to the LTIMindtree’s team with high quality expectations as a previous vendor failed to meet quality expectations, creating immense performance pressure.
Requirement
The project required a multi-platform (Quest 2 VR and Mobile AR) and multi-lingual linear virtual tour designed for rapid throughput to handle heavy booth traffic with minimal user training. I was brought in to assume immersive design and creative direction ownership of the project and tasked with defining intuitive user journey and interaction patterns, coordinating with 3D art and separate mobile Web AR and Unity VR software development tracks and translating and localizing narrative assets under a heavily compressed event deadline.
Solution
To maximize throughput and eliminate the learning curve for non-technical or first-time users, complex and possibly time-consuming interaction mechanics—such as using VR hand-tracking to grab and inspect products—were minimized. Instead, a streamlined “Touch & Poke” interaction model was implemented.
As the narrative experience required a linear sequence, users would be journey through the facility taking the user from one location to next using one active location at a time; clicking the location marker the user transitioned into a high-fidelity 360 video with narration provided alongside. Once a segment concluded, the system automatically returned the user to the master map. This gave the users a highly realistic 3d view of the facility while contextualizing it to the processing conducted at the location.
The industrial facility layout was design as a tabletop model, seamlessly accommodated both standing and seated across both VR and mobile AR platform.
The scene was framed inside an ambient environment matching the corporation’s iconic brand colors. This aesthetic choice served a dual purpose: it directly matched the corporate visual identity while imbuing the space with an engaging, premium magical atmosphere. To balance user agency with strict time limits, custom ambient UI icons were designed to give subtle spatial cues, directing users where to look without breaking immersion.
The raw asset data delivered by the client was somewhat inconsistent, with limited clarity matching narration to facility locations. To keep production on track, preemptive facility layout was researched to map out the physical layout of the factory. This accurate layout blueprint was provided to the lead 3D artist who researched the exact references for modeling the landscape and buildings at the facility in as detail as possible, defining the exact modeling scope, creating photo-realistic replica of the facility bringing life to the experience and preventing costly structural rework.
The project scoped for multilingual localized audio output but only possessed English audio assets recorded by the production facility expert. This utilised the ElevenLabs Voice AI along with translation tools to build a translation and voice-matching pipeline. While voice cloning was prototyped to maintain the narrator’s exact vocal profile across languages, it was ultimately adjusted to leverage regional voice models to ensure perfect dialectal accuracy and regional compliance voiceover.

Despite a split development team handling separate AR and VR codebases, rigorous cross-functional alignment minimized technical friction and kept the project within its timeline. Identifying spatial layout errors and asset mismatches during the initial mapping phase saved the client significant budget by avoiding late-stage 3D asset revisions.
